The 2019 Jaine Cottage Reserve Chardonnay was crafted from 1 small vineyard parcel in the Columbia Valley, located just outside of Othello, WA. This vineyard is fully sustainable and uses organic farming methods, whenever possible. The vineyard was hand-harvested early in the mornings of September 6th 2019. Upon arriving in the winery, the vineyard lot was hand-sorted, whole cluster pressed, and fermented using a combination of native yeast in barrels and then aged in barrels over the course of 22 months Bottling took place on July 26th, 2021, only 274 cases were made.

Tasting Notes

"The 2019 Chardonnay shows medium yellow to pale gold in color with expressive aromas of green apple, fresh pineapple, citrus blossom, limestone and marzipan. This intensely flavorful wine combines lemon curd, Asian pear, crème fraiche and oyster shell on the palate. The mouthfeel is lively with brisk acidity and an elegant texture. The energetic finish lingers with flavors of green melon and apple." - Bryan Otis, Proprietor

Awards & Accolades

"The 2019 Chardonnay Cottage Reserve is harder to read and shows a reductive style with quality orchard and citrus fruit slowly emerging with air. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's vibrant and racy, with good mid-palate concentration, impressive overall balance, and a great finish. It deserves a year in bottle and should be an outstanding Chardonnay with a solid 3-5 years of longevity. It's another impressive wine from this estate."
