2021Stillwater Creek Chardonnay

[Sold Out]

This single-vineyard, 2021 Jaine Chardonnay was crafted from Stillwater Creek vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA, Columbia Valley. The vineyard is sustainably farmed and uses organic farming methods. Yields were low, 2021 was a light crop year due to difficult weather at bloom, plus excessive heat during the summer. Early leaf thinning passes helped the grape clusters adapt to the elements; early June heat really helped the vines acclimate to the heat that the rest of the summer brought. The vineyard was hand-harvested early in the morning throughout September. Upon arriving in the winery, the lot was hand-sorted and whole-cluster pressed. The wine was fermented and aged for 22 months in new French oak barrels. Bottling took place in August 2022 with only 56 cases produced.

Tasting Notes

Shows pale yellow in the glass with aromas of bright citrus pith, elevated white peach, dried herbs and hazelnut. An brilliant blend of nutmeg, pineapple, guava and macadamia nut mingle on this viscous, full-bodied palate. The finish shows a combination of crushed rock minerality and preserved lime flavors.
