 Bursting With Excitement: Jaine Bubbles Debut

Say hello to Jaine Blanc de Blanc: Jaine's first sparkling wine.

Nothing says "celebration" like a bit of bubbly. A glass of giggles. A splash of spumante. It's even fun to say. Jaine is all about celebrating life's most beautiful moments in the company of others, so crafting a sparkling wine for Jaine was only appropriate.

The 2019 Jaine Blanc de Blanc is 100% Chardonnay, fermented entirely in stainless steel with zero dosage (no sweetener added), so you know it's going to be refreshing (get all the specs here). A flute of this fizz will display bright aromas of citrus, stone fruits, and chalky minerality. With swirling, you might notice notes of heady white blossoms, white peach, and lychee. Even the label on the 2019 Jaine Blanc de Blanc bottle embodies a floral character, displaying a painting of blossoms by local artist Caitlin Agnew (@finchesart). The mousse (foam) of the wine is ultra-fine, which adds a bit of volume to balance the vibrant acidity in the wine.

The term "Blanc de Blanc" is often used to describe Champagne, and it refers to a white wine made entirely from white grapes (as opposed to "Blanc de Noir," which is a white wine made from black grapes, such as Pinot Noir). In the case of the 2019 Jaine Blanc de Blanc, the wine was crafted from Chardonnay grapes (as is usually the case with Blanc de Blancs), harvested from Conner Lee Vineyard in Washington State's Columbia Valley AVA.

The 2019 growing season was slighter cooler compared to other recent years, and overall a successful year for white grape production in sites with effective canopy management (management of a grapevine's canopy of leaves, shoots, and fruit for optimal grape production). These favorable weather patterns, in conjunction with Conner Lee Vineyard, which is widely regarded as one of the top Chardonnay sites in the Pacific Northwest, created the perfect ingredients for our 2019 Jaine Blanc de Blanc.

To best enjoy this wine, we recommend popping the cork on a chilled bottle, serving with fresh oysters, and raising a glass with your closest friends and family in a toast to the summer.
